Spencer's music taste was... limited to say the least.
To be honest, you find it funny more than anything else. You or the rest of the team can talk about any current artist ever, and he'll sit there with this confused, clueless look on his face before finally he mucks up the courage to ask who we're talking about. It's adorable. For once it's the genius who doesn't know something.
You've recently made it your goal to get him exposed to some new music, and you plan to start today. You just decided you couldn't continue on like this when he didn't even know globally popular songs like "I Was Made For Lovin' You." Seriously, who doesn't know that song?! You haven't exactly told him about this goal, but whatever, he'll have to agree, he doesn't really have a choice with how adamant you plan on being.
The perfect opportunity presented itself today when there was a slight lull on the case and Hotch told you all to go home for the night. The rest of the team departed quite quickly, groaning with words of relief as they exit the bullpen, but Spencer is patiently packing up his messenger bag as you walk up to him and set your phone on his table. He glances up at you and raises a brow, looking from you to the phone and then up again.
"Hi?"
You simply smile and open your phone, pressing the play button so that "Teddy Picker" by Arctic Monkeys plays out of the speaker. He glances down at the phone again and then looks up at you, a small smile growing on his face.
"What's this?"
"This," you start, pointing at the phone. "Is music. Good, current music. Listen closely."
He goes quiet for a second and narrows his eyes, pulling his bag onto his shoulder and the other one goes into his pocket as he goes quiet for a moment. After a second he shrugs his shoulders and opens his mouth and you just know he's going to start rambling, as he does.
"I mean, I can appreciate it, sure, all the talented people that come together to make it, and the technological—"
"Listen." You shush him and he sighs, going quiet.
