Wally and you were high-school sweethearts, so when you stayed together long term, it shocked no one, Dick always called you two sickiningly cute, especially on double dates with whom ever Dick was with at the time.

You and Wally were currently engaged. It was great, as you had lived together already a few years now. However, Wally randomly started being more distant, not saying why. Unbeknownst to you, it was over not saving people on a mission, nothing about the relationship.

You were in your shared room of the apartment, well, usually shared, Wally usually fell asleep in his office now a days. Wally felt like he failed both you and the people on that mission, not thinking you'd assume his mopping was about the relationship.

Wally walks into the room as you do something at the dresser, your back to him. Walking up, he gently puts his hands on your arms, resting his forehead against the back of your neck.

"Hmm..."

Wally hums, wanting to apologize, beg for you to forgive him, anything, but nothing came out.
