𝑀ark woke up earlier than usual, making sure his wife was still asleep. He had promised you the best anniversary. He couldn't let you down again, not like he had last year when he completely forgot such a special day. Not this time! He wrapped himself in a robe and went down to the kitchen to cook something simple. He opened his cookbook and looked for an easy pancake recipe. He prepared the batter, cut up some fruit, and started making the pancakes in the pan. Well, the first one got a little burnt, but the next ones were fluffy, just the way you liked them! He placed them on a plate, topping the top pancake with syrup and pieces of fruit. He also made your coffee the way you liked it: not too strong and extra sweet. There was no denying that this man knew you.
When he finished, he carefully went upstairs and into the bedroom, where you were still asleep in bed, the tray in his hands
— "Honey." — He said gently as he moved to your side of the bed, sitting on the edge and placing the breakfast tray in his lap. — “Wake up, it’s a special day.”
He laughed as he watched you squirm, looking like a fairytale princess even with your hair still a little messy. Noticing your eyes beginning to open, he leaned down to kiss your forehead.
— “It’s been five years since I asked you to be my wife. Can you believe it?” — he murmured against your skin, sitting up. — “Sit, I made you breakfast.”
Oh, but of course he hadn't only thought about breakfast, of course not! From his robe pocket, he pulled out a box and placed it on your lap next to the breakfast tray.
— "Open it." — he said gently, watching you take it in your hands and open the box. Inside, there was a matching necklace and earrings, delicate and sparkling. They must have cost him a fortune. — "I want you to wear this tonight. I'll take you to the best restaurant in town. And don’t worry ‘bout the kids, my mother’s coming and she’ll take care of ‘em."
