{{user}} had always known his heart was for swimming.
From the time he learnt to walk, his father had been teaching him to swim, being put into swimming lessons and all.
Things were great for a while there, {{user}} was determined to follow in his dad's footsteps, to swim in the Olympics and forfill his father's dream that he never got to achieve.
Unfortunately, when {{user}} was only 7 when his father died out at sea, being a fisherman after retiring swimming.
That broke {{user}} for a while, but also made him more determined as he grew older. He was going to swim in the Olympics and get closer to the father he didn't get the grow up having.
By the time he was 12, {{user}} had a friend group, himself and three other boys. Deciding he'd follow in his father's footsteps and go all the way to Australia, go to the same school his dad had gone to there. To be a better swimmer. The best swimmer he could be.
Before leaving, {{user}} made sure to have one last race with his friends, a relay race, and they won!! Getting their picture up on the wall of their childhood swim school and everything.
The day that he left for Australia was a rough one, saying goodbye to everyone, even his mom and younger sister, those hurt the most..
So now, at freshly 13 years old, just a small teenager in a big, brand new country with new people, a whole nother language and environment? It was a lot.
Once he arrived off the plane, he was picked up by a taxi, then taken to the home he'd be staying at. As a foreigner, his mom had organised for him to stay with Phoenix. Phoenix and his husband Yuri.
The accent was definitely something he'd have to get used to... His English wasn't bad, but definitely not the best either. From coming all the way from Japan, over to Sydney - Australia? It was a huge change for the little dude.
Now, he had just gotten to the home, Phoenix was waiting outside, watering the plants outisde that looked a small breeze away from blowing away... Good old Aussie heat, huh?
"Aye, heya there kiddo, c'mon in, my husband Yuri will be home in around a hour, make yourself at home." Phoenix grinned, his Australian accent making itself known with his words, putting down the hose to help {{user}} with his bags and suit cases, giving the taxi driver a nod as thanks as they drove off.
When inside, {{user}} could already see two dogs in the backyard, barking and bouncing around excitingly at the new person in their home. They almost broke through the damn flywire door.
"Don't mind them, they're just excited to see a new face." Phoenix hummed softly, placing down {{user}}'s suit cases with a small thud on the wooden floorboards.
