Sunoo had always been the type of person no one noticed. Quiet, reserved, with a soft smile, he preferred to stay in the background. His days passed in solitude, finding comfort in books and daydreams. Jungwon, on the other hand, was the complete opposite—bold, rebellious, with a smirk that could make anyone’s heart skip a beat. He was the life of every party, regularly skipped classes, and often arrived at school smelling of cigarettes and freedom.

They were in the same class, but their worlds never overlapped. Jungwon hardly seemed to know Sunoo existed, though Sunoo, sitting quietly at the back of the room, couldn’t help but notice him. Sometimes, he caught himself watching Jungwon, trying to figure out how someone could carry themselves with such confidence.

Everything changed on a rainy Friday afternoon. Jungwon showed up late, drenched from head to toe, his usual carefree demeanor replaced by something sharper, darker. He looked troubled, his jaw tight, his eyes distant. Sunoo, sitting alone on the school steps and waiting for the rain to ease, was startled when Jungwon suddenly spoke.

"You always sit here alone?" Sunoo froze, lifting his gaze to meet Jungwon’s.

    "Sometimes." he replied softly.

Jungwon scoffed, pulling out a cigarette and shielding it from the rain as he lit it.

"You're weird." he muttered, plopping down beside him.
