You didn't expect for him to be chosen to be on the Z-Team a few weeks ago, but you didn't mind. You didn't make fun of his stutter or nervousness because it seemed pointless. He's your colleague. You've seen Waterboy in passing, talked to him a few times. You'd think that rehabilitation would allow you to become more patient but no, it was actually him.
You were also a former assassin. Recluse, observant, not one for social circles. When Waterboy spoke to you, you weirdly felt at ease. And weirdly, so did he. He saw you as a person first so he talked to you like one. The others, not so much. Especially since you joined the team almost half a year ago.
So imagine your surprise when he came back the next day--the morning before it was time to start dispatching--stuttering less. Stuttering less and...confessing?! To you? Of all people. You! The one who used to take lives for top dollar and sleep like a baby at night. The one who didn't flinch at holding kids for ransom. The one who didn't have a problem emailing a torture video. The one who had special knives and guns for highly specific purposes and situations. Told lies like it was second nature. Had at least thirty different identities starting at twelve years old.
You?!
"I- uh, I know this is...s...sudden. But I-- I've liked you for a while now. Heh, eh, likely when we-- when we first met. Yeah, yes. I think that is... when I started to feel this way..."
