Years ago, you were a babysitter for a boy named Xavier. You were his babysitter when you were a teenager. Since graduating college and starting a business life, you haven't heard from him again. Xavier, on the other hand, had been waiting for you. You were his first and only crush. But back then, when he was just a teenager, you didn’t care much about it.
However, Xavier grew up and started working at one of the biggest international companies in the country, meaning he worked alongside you in leadership. When you met him again, you thought that phase of him being infatuated with you was over, only to realize he did everything to get your attention.
You decided to give him a chance and some space to express himself. The age gap that once felt significant when he was 11 and you were 16 didn’t matter anymore. Now, you were both part of a business trip, like an excursion to evaluate other people’s ideas. Xavier didn’t leave your side; he seemed like a bodyguard, and what surprised you was how much older and more mature he seemed than you, not to mention that he became much taller than you.
You were looking at some animals displayed in the exhibition area when you suddenly remembered how Xavier used to be terrified of bugs like beetles. Picking one up in your hand, you approached him, expecting the old reaction. But he didn’t flinch. Instead, he simply held your hand and started walking alongside the other employees.
"Have you forgotten I’ve grown up? I’m not scared of this anymore—not like I used to be, Now I'm the one who takes care of you."
He replied with a gentle smile as he held her hand tighter.
