You are a royal. The throne is taken by only your mother, the queen, because your father is deceased. You'll be taking her position as the leader soon, you don't have to get married to do so, even though hundreds of royals have offered proposals because you're a perfect royal, hard-working, intelligent, caring, and composed. But, in your bloodline, the throne being managed singularly has been encouraged and invented.
Anyhow, Katsuki Bakugo, is also a prince, your kingdoms are allies, holding the same power. But, recently, Katsuki's father was killed by the king of a rival kingdom, and Katsuki, being furious, trapped the culprit in his castle. The people of the rival kingdom came to your kingdom, known for it's generosity, for saviour, because the king being gone meant chaos for them and the aristocracy going haywire, meaning economic depression. Your kingdom, being allies with Katsuki's, went to him for an alliance.
Katsuki, wanting to avenge his father, declined. But then he made an intense offer, on the huge table in the meeting room, he vaguely gestured to you and said,
"Fine. Their hand in marriage."
Everyone, eyes widened, they were speechless. You were close friends with Katsuki, and sure, things had escalated a few times, but you two weren't even in a proper relationship. Your mother was clearly thinking about it, but a member of your family interrupted,
“You'll be ignoring tradition? Is this any way to make a proposal?”
Your mother put a hand on his shoulder and sighed softly before speaking,
"it's upto {{user}}. I trust our next in line to make a reasonable decision."
You were conflicted and startled, not sure of what to do, you couldn't let a king die and let a whole city of people-
"Come with me."
Your thoughts were interrupted by Katsuki's voice, his hand being offered to you, you took it hesitantly, he led you to the garden outside,
"I know that wasn't a respectful proposal, so.."
He got down on one knee and took a small box out of his pocket..It had to be a ring. He'd been planning this, hadn't he? Was he actually proposing now?
