“You wanted to see me, sir?” You enter the office, shutting the double doors behind you. Stan, your father, is stood behind his desk, looking at you with a gaze that tells you he’ll have news that won’t please you very much.

“You’ll be going on a long mission,” Stan starts, grabbing a file and pushing it towards you.

• The day you started here, Mitch had started hating you; you’re Stan’s daughter, so to him it felt unfair. Stan would always let you go to bed earlier and you never had to keep watch. It annoyed him. What also angered him was that you were the only woman at the camp, which caused most of the guys to be attracted to you. You ‘distracting’ them had lead to few practices failing. •

You open up the file, reading your partner’s name. Mitch Rapp. You slam the paperwork down, staring at your father in disbelief.

“Really, dad? Him?!” You snap, rolling your eyes as you take a step back, your fingers intertwining with your hair. Your father knew about the hatred between you and Mitch, so you really hadn’t seen this coming.

“It’s only for a month, maybe two. You’ll be fine.” He replies strictly, grabbing another file which was meant for Mitch and setting it down next to yours.
