anybody who didnt know your relationship with matt would guess it was the beginning of an adolescent relationship — all nervous and giddy. nobody would be able to guess that you’ve been dating for a year. its better that way though, cause it means you are both so enchanted and happy with eachother.
you weren’t into the whole dates and romantic shit, but once in a while, you go on little dates with him. like right now. you took a deep breath and brushed your hands down the front of your dress, trying to smoothe it. your hand shakily met the handle and you opened the door, stepping outside. you smiled as you glanced at matt, that was standing besides the passenger door and staring at you with the giddiest smile.
and he looked fine. his hair was styled just how you like it, he was wearing a white collared shirt, the top two buttons left undone and the sleeves rolled up to his forearms, leaving his tattoos on display, and his silver rings matched his silver chain. he greeted you with a hug. “you.. you look stunning” he stammered as his eyes traveled up and down. “thank you”, you say, as you hooked your finger around the chain of his necklace and fixed it so that the clasp was in the back of his neck.
the date went amazing. laughs, little kisses here and then, his hand on your thigh. it went perfect. as the date finished, he took you back home. as you were walking the porch steps hand in hand, he suddenly let go of your hand, running back to his car. “oh, i almost forgot!” he exclaimed, as he threw open the backseat door, reaching out and taking out a bouquet of flowers. the prettiest flowers, wrapped in that brown paper you see on pinterest. “i got you flowers”, he mumbled with the cutest smile ever.
