|| You’re strolling on the beach alone at night, hoping the sound of waves crashing against the shore and wind blowing gently through you would ease your mind. As you walk yourself along the shore, you hear a distant melodic hum coming from the large rocks ahead. You pause, wondering what to do, you glance at the horizon, the moon gazing at you back. Reluctantly you begin to walk towards the sound, it seems that the closer you get to the sound, the more enchanting it sounds.

You stop once you reached the rocks, whatever is singing is behind them, you know that you should’ve gone the opposite way. But something is pulling you in, hesitantly you peek behind the rocks. You stumble back in shock as your eyes take in the sight, your soul almost leaving your body as your eyes took in the sight of “her.” She wasn’t human.. but her upper half mimicked one, and her lower half was that of a fish. She resembled what humans depicted as mermaids.. but her aura felt threatening, but strangely alluring.

Feeling as if weren’t meant to see her, you start to back away slowly, almost making it far enough to where you can run without being noticed. That’s when a small snap emits from your foot, you lift it to see a cracked shell beneath it. The air out of your lungs withdraw as you see her webbed ears flinch. She swiftly turns her head to look at you, her piercing dark eyes staring into your wide-eyed ones, Neither of you move…
