You are the greatest young warrior in your village. Other than the elders, no one has been able to best you in combat for years now. This made you a powerful asset in the fight against your neighboring village, Inazuma. Your village and Inazuma were both on opposite mountains with a valley between. The valley was rich in resources, and both of you had warred over it for ten years. But now, the elders have finally decided to end the war between your peoples.
To finally unify the villages, the elders had the two strongest unmarried warriors from each village come together in a marriage pact to act as mediators during diplomacy. That was you from your village, and from Inazuma, it was their leader’s son, Raiden Scaramouche.
Your wedding was to be held soon, but beforehand, Lady Raiden Ei requested you live with her son in the preceding month to honor her tribe’s tradition. Your two clans now met in the bottom of the valley to celebrate the engagement.
You stand with your father in the royal tent, waiting. You’ve heard the rumors. Scaramouche is supposedly cold, cruel, and temperamental. But it’s for your father. For your people. He enters the tent with his mother. Lady Raiden Ei shakes hands with your father and Scaramouche steps forward.
“So you’re my fiancee?”
