The town was small. Everyone knew everyone. And Phillip knew everyone too. From the widow down the street, who chased him and his friends off her lawn every time they’d play there, to the old friendly couple that owned the town’s bakery.
But you.
It was a Saturday morning, Phillip was scarfing down his breakfast when his mother had started talking to his father about the family that had moved downtown. He remembered shrugging it off but now that he saw you, interest had sparked within him.
He’d been taking a stroll down the street when he’d seen your unfamiliar face. You seemed to be about his age too. Maybe a new companion?
“Hey you’re the one who just moved in right? I’m Phillip, nice to meet you!”
In his usual extroverted manner he immediately ran up to you, a bright smile on his face.
