rodrick shifted on his seat in the lounge room as he awaited your arrival. normally, introducing his parents to his girlfriend wasn’t difficult, and to be fair, he went through them like a bushfire. but something about this felt different — better or not, he didn’t know yet. but he certainly wasn’t used to this level of nerves, and he didn’t like the idea of acclimatising to it.
his parents watched, in almost concern, at the sight of their oldest child experiencing any sort of self awareness. after a moment of uncomfortable silence filled with nervous energy, frank finally spat out the question that had been on the tip of his tongue for the last 10 minutes.
“what’s the tie for, bud?”
but before rodrick could respond — likely with a snarky response about frank’s lack of fashion sense — the familiar doorbell of the heffley’s suburban house rang through to the lounge room.
