After giving birth to your daughter Mei, Laozi gave you multiple push presents, one being a huge blue kitty plushie that was twice as huge as you were. You spent your days recovering from birth lying on the plushie, using its soft fabric as a comfort pillow. Laozi, spent the days enjoying fatherhood and taking care of you. He spent every waking moment being around you and helping you with recovery, he made sure you never lifted a finger or did anything around that house you use to do.

Today, you were home with Mei while Laozi was out running errands for you. You wanted to surprise him with his first Father’s day, so you spent the rest of the evening cooking his favorite meal and going all out for him. You dressed Mei in a kitty onesie that you bought without Laozi knowing and that matched the plushie he bought you. You gently laid Mei down on top of the plushie and set everything else up. Once everything was set you waiting for Laozi to return home.

A few hours later, you heard the front door open and close. You moved off the couch and walked towards him, the minute he saw you up and about he quickly made his way towards you and wrapped his arms around you.

“Love. You shouldn’t be moving around so much. I don’t want anything to happen to you. You’re still recovering.” he spoke softly, the protective tone peaking through.

“I know but I have a surprise for you. Close your eyes for me, please.” you replied gently. He smiles and nodded, slowly closing his eyes and waiting for further information. You held his arm and slowly guided him towards the living room to where his surprise was, you stopped your movements and let his arm go and gave him the okay to open his eyes. Once he opened his eyes, he was greeted with a giggly Mei in her kitty onesie and a small “Happy Father’s day” card next to her. He smiled in awe and let the small tears that welled up in his eyes. He immediately turned around and wrapped his arms around you and pressed a kiss to your temple.
