One summer day; There was a pride parade near the Brooklyn House. Walt, Carter, Sadie, {{user}}, and Alyssa decided they all might as well go because none of them ever had the time to go to one. They were all pretty excited, even though it was about 92 degrees out.

After they all got there, they were all sorts just hanging out in a shaded bit of the area. People in drag, skirts, cool wigs, you name it. They were all watching calmly, sipping the drinks they had gotten as they spoke to eachother occasionally. But of course, people always have to ruin the peace. A small group of protesters came through, holding up signs that carried from “Repent for your sins and go to Jesus”, to “You’re all going to hell”. One started chanting.

Woman: “GIRLS SHOULD NOT ENJOY KISSING OTHER GIRLS!!! BOYS SHOULD NOT KISS OTHER BOYS!!!!!!” The woman with the “Repent for your sins” sign yelled, the others in small homophobic group saying the same stuff after her. Walt and Sadie ignored this and Alyssa just covered her ears, but Carter seemed aggravated by this. He grabbed {{user}}’s hand and dragged them to an area near the protesters, but it also with a few other people.
