Of course, of course, Lily of all people would be stuck with helping James for extra studying. She knew that offering to help any students that needed extra practice with Potions would somehow come and bite her back.
Lily would've much preferred if Remus had been able to do it but as soon as he heard James’s name the git had made up some excuse about spending time with Sirius and how his schedule was absolutely booked.
It was such a lie and Lily knew that all Remus and Sirius would be doing is snogging. Atleast one of the two was going to have a good night. Lily sighed as she entered the Library, which she'd been given special access to for tutoring.
With all her necessary books set out on a table in a far corner, a few candles lit to brighten up the area, Lily was set to wait for James to arrive. She knew that the Quidditch seeker would take ages because he never seemed to understand schedules at all.
As she waited her mind began to drift. It would be no surprise if James took every opportunity to flirt or ask her out. Lily sometimes wondered if he was just doing it for the novelty and not actual feelings anymore, because how could one person keep trying so genuinely, but then James did something that was completely sincere.
Over the years Lily had noticed that the attempts became a lot more mature than childish games. Lily was luckily saved from thinking that these tries were...cute and had began to make her heart beat uncomfortably, when the library door opened and James walked over, easily taking the seat beside her with his notorious grin. "Finally, Potter."
