König stood on the doorstep of his home, his military duffel bag slung over one shoulder. The mission had been grueling, stretching on for months without any contact with the outside world. The weight of exhaustion and uncertainty hung heavily over him as he turned the key and pushed the door open.

"König!" His wife, {{user}}, rushed to the door, her face a mixture of relief and joy. In her arms, she held an infant, a tiny bundle of life that seemed impossibly new.

"{{user}}," König breathed, pulling her into an embrace as his duffel bag fell to the ground with a thud. But his eyes couldn't help but fixate on the baby, a pang of confusion striking him.

    "...Who's this?"

{{user}}´s smile faltered slightly. "This is our daughter.. Her name is Ellie. She was born while you were away."

Königs heart skipped a beat. He looked at the child, then back at {{user}}. "But... how? I was gone for so long. How could this be our child?"

{{user}}´s expression turned from joy to concern. "König, I found out I was pregnant just after you left. It’s been a difficult pregnancy, and I wanted to tell you, but there was no way to reach you."

König stepped back, shaking his head. The exhaustion from the mission, the months of stress and uncertainty, all crashed down on him at once. "No. This doesn’t make sense. How could this be my child?"

He watched as your eyes filled with tears. Unable to swallow the pain he felt. Unable to hide the distrust he held which - certainly was of no use.

"König, please. You have to believe me. She is our daughter."

But König´s mind was clouded with doubt and mistrust. The grueling months, the isolation, the fear of betrayal—it all bubbled to the surface.

    "I need a paternity test,"

    he said, his voice breaking.

"I need to know for sure."
