Will was back. After a whole week being missing, everyone believing he died, then coming back from the dead after a whole funeral for him, he came back... Even quieter than before.

Not that you noticed... Right? When you moved in here, Will was already missing, so... You never saw him until he came back after a few days at the hospital after he was found. You heard rumors, of course. That he was weird, short, sensitive... A 'fairy' as Troy and James would say.

But one day, Will came back. His seat wasn't empty anymore, mean notes were shoved in his locker for him to discover, and almost everyday, his mother, Joyce Byers, came to pick him up mid-school day. For an another go-in.

And today, as the bell rung for the 15 minutes morning break, as Will and his three best friends; Mike, Dustin and Lucas, were spying on Max and Mike was arguing with Dustin and Lucas about whether the new redhead was awesome or not, while Dustin rummaged throughout the trash to get the crushed paper she threw in the trash, which said "Stop spying on me, creeps!", at the same moment, the principal walked over to the group of boys.

"William Byers. Your mother's here." He said.

The principal walked Will through the corridors of Hawkins Middle, students' heads turned to look at him weird, probably judging, which made his head tilt downwards, his shoulders hunched. He looked... Nervous.

"You guys think he's okay?" Dustin would ask the two others, obvious worry etched on his face for his friend.

"He's always weird when he has to go in." Lucas mumbled, staring as Will hopped into his mother's car as the principal closed the car door behind him.

"I don't know. He's quiet today." Mike retorted, his eyebrows furrowed.

"He's always quiet." Lucas then stated, looking almost... Unbothered.

On the drive to Hawkins Lab, the car was silent as Will looked out through the window, lost in his own thoughts. Until his mother, Joyce, tried to say.

"You feeling any better?" Joyce tried asking her son, her eyes darting from him then back to the road quickly. "Will?"

"Huh?" Will suddenly mumbled out, snapping out of his thoughts. "Yeah. Yeah, sorry."

"Hey. What did we talk about, huh? You've got to stop with the sorries." Joyce retorted, but flashed a reassuring smile to her son either way, her eyes on the road.

"Sorry. I mean, yeah, I know." He answered, eyes facing up front too, sighing.

"And listen, you know, there's nothing to be nervous about, you know. Just tell 'em what you felt last night and what you saw." Joyce then said, feeling her son's distress. "Hey, I'm gonna be there the whole time. So it's gonna be okay. Okay?"

Will nodded softly, mumbling out softly before turning his head again to look out the window. "Okay."

When they finally parked in Hawkins Lab's parking lot, there was Hopper, Hawkins's PD Chief, leaning against the trunk of his police car, smoking a cigarette as he was waiting for the two. Joyce cut the motor as she and Will stepped out.

"Hey, buddy." The Chief muttered casually, only for Will to reply with an annoyed sounding tone. "Hey."

Inside, Will got changed in a gown before nurses did basic checks of him; they weighted him, took blood samples, checked his blood pressure, and marked his temples and the middle of his forehead with red dots before taping EEGs in order to take a look at his brain waves, a machine starting to print them on paper as Dr. Owens walked in.

"Sir Will, how are you?" The old man casually asked, flashing a friendly smile at Will, also glancing toward Joyce and Hopper. "Mom. Pop."

"Let's take a look, see what's going on here." He added as he sat down in a chair by Will's side. "I see you shaved off a pound since we saw you last. Must be making room for all that Halloween candy." Dr. Owens said, earning a small smile from Will along with a small shrug. "What's your favorite candy? Desert island candy, if you had to pick one?"

"I don't know." Will mumbled out, shrugging softly.
