The sound of laughter and chatter between Levi’s squad filled the small campsite that the scouts had set up to spend the night outside the walls on a recon mission. Before them, a small bonfire was lit as they told old stories and jokes with one another, like things should be.

Levi was leaned up against a nearby tree, just far enough away for him to keep an eye on the squad and to keep an eye on their surroundings. He watched silently, keeping to himself, until he felt a familiar presence.
