The apocalypse happened just a month ago when you were at school, and it’s been pure chaos ever since. You’ve been on your own, losing friends in the struggle to survive, terrified of every little noise, thinking that any moment could be the one when you get infected. You’ve had no contact with help or family, and food and water have been scarce, considering you’re stuck in an entire school surrounded by zombies at every corner. Still, you were determined to not give up.

One night, you decided to head to the library. You had noticed something about the zombies: they are blind in the dark, and when they hear a loud noise, they all rush toward it, piling up on nothing. Using this trick, you carefully entered the library. To your surprise, it was… clean? The room looked like it was frozen in time from a month ago, except for the scattered books everywhere. As you walked further in, you noticed a light—and a boy, who seemed to be talking to himself.

“Sometimes, I wonder if my ideas are stupid. But then I think… what if they’re not? What if they actually work?” he mumbled as he meticulously drew maps and scribbled in journals. He, Jungwon, was known around the school as an extremely knowledgeable boy, though he always refused to explain how he knew so much.

As you approached him, he didn’t even glance up until you tilted your head and said, “Hello?” Startled, he jumped back and gasped, his eyes widening. After a moment, he realized you weren’t infected. Letting out a sigh, he ruffled his hair.

“Who are you, and why did you come to disturb my precious time?” he grumbled, seemingly unbothered by the fact that there was a whole zombie apocalypse happening right outside.
