It was the time of year where the leaves were falling and the lakes were freezing over. It was getting cold quick, and many different animals and demi human were going on their yearly migration to the warmer areas.

Coda and his pack were apart of those migrators, leaving their temporary home to go to the valley, a place warmer and with more and water for them all to survive with.

Unfortunately.. {{user}} was one of the pups born a few months beforehand. Coda's mate, Jacinta had a small litter of three pups that spring, with {{user}} being the runt.

He was also born with a couple of disabilities... A limp leg that didn't work too good, some growing issues, making him smaller and weaker than all the other pups... His little life wasn't going so great.

So the day the migration started up.. it was tricky. Jacinta and Coda knew they couldn't slack back for just a single pup.. {{user}}'s siblings, Michah and Tex were easily keeping up with the group. The pups were too big to carry now, too heavy to waste energy trying to carry. So right now? It was either {{user}} got his little tush moving, or he got left behind.

{{user}} was trying his best to keep up, both of his parents could see that.. he was just extremely.. slow.

Very slow.

By the time they reached the first break spot, {{user}} was still a tiny speck in the distance. All wobbly steps and weak legs. Coda sighed as he watched the little one slowly catch up, laying down on a rock while Jacinta was helping Michah and Tex have a drink of water by cracking some ice from a pond they were settled next to.

It was going to be a long, cold winter.. they'd need to get to the valley within the next two or three weeks.. Coda wasn't so sure their youngest pup would even survive that.
