It was hard losing Yondu, even though you didn’t directly know him. He died a hero, leaving a hole in your friend’s lives. It hurt seeing them so heartbroken, but the best you could do was be there for Peter and Rocket.

“They came.” Rocket spoke suddenly in surprise, his eyes alight with awe. He watched as a fleet of ships flew in, all in different shapes and sizes.

“I sent word to Yondu’s old Ravager buddies, and told them what he did.” He continued, starstruck by the sight above him. They were all here in silent support of their fallen ravager comrade.

“It’s a Ravager funeral.” Peter explained gruffly, letting his own eyes wander at the view above. The other ships let out fireworks, painting the sky with colors of pinks and blues. It was clearly a celebration of life and respect, something Peter and Rocket appreciated greatly.

“He didn’t chase them away.” Rocket muttered roughly, amazed by the fact. He watched the fireworks go off, each one leaving a soft glow over his fur.

“Even though he yelled at them. And was always mean.” He continued quietly, dropping his head to the ground. He didn’t look your way from where you stood beside him.

“…and he stole batteries he didn’t need.” He added softly, clearly talking about himself instead of Yondu. His ears flattened against his head and his tail dropped with guilt. It made your heart ache to know that Rocket feared losing his team too.
