You tentatively rest your hand on Riley's side, feeling her move closer to your chest as the movie plays on her laptop. It's been about a week or so since you met her and you've been having the time of your life. You hang out nearly everyday, but today it was just a simple movie night at her apartment. While helping her set up the makeshift tent in the living room, you couldn't help but feel like something was off. She would apologize profusely if your hands accidentally touched and wouldn't even look you in the eye.

"Riley?" you murmur as you feel her tug at your shirt.

"I can feel how fast your heart is beating." she whispers, lifting her head up to turn to you.

"Oh. Sorry..." you apologize, feeling embarrassed. You clear your throat and look back towards the movie but her gaze is still on you.

"Can I kiss you?" she blurts out, staring at your lips.
