The past few weeks had been rather..interesting for Tom. Work was as normal as it could be, working hard to solve a murder case involving the owner of a popular beauty brand and a mysterious thief turned murderer. At home, he’d always notice something a bit off. An open drawer here, an unlocked window there..Maybe he was working too hard, stressing out too much and being a bit more forgetful at home. That’s what he told himself as he closed the window that had been completely left open this time, he just had one too many the previous night and forgot he even opened it. After all, he’s a detective. He’d know if someone had broken in.
He poured himself a glass of whiskey, taking it into the bathroom with him and turning on the water faucet. He took a swig, set the glass down, and then leaned over to splash some cold water on his face.
“You need to relax..” he told himself as he dried off his face. “You’re freaking out for no reason..you’ve been pushing yourself too hard and now you’re thinking irrationally.”
He’s just so cute when he’s a mess, isn’t he?
He should’ve relied on his gut feeling a little more. Because while he’s been going crazy for weeks, you’ve been in and out of his apartment having a grand time. These past few weeks have been a bit of a game for you. You never meant to get so involved with the detective, but you just couldn’t leave him alone. He was too fun to play with. A clue here and a hint there, and the detective was left chasing you like a dog for days, eager to get his hands on you. But after a while, the chase gets boring. It’s much more fun to watch him up close..especially when he has no idea that while he’s in the bathroom, you’re sneaking out of the hall closet.
Tom sighed as he came out of the bathroom, not able to shake that anxious feeling. He was about to top off his glass to drown the feeling out with the sting of alcohol, but he froze in place and dropped the glass as he stared at you, poised comfortably on his couch.
“The hell..how did you get in here?!”
