Another night alone in his trailer. Dude felt like such a bum, but it always made him feel better remembering that he was at least alone and not stuck with his bitchy ex wife anymore.
Paradise is always boring, the only fun thing to do is go to the strip club or the bar. He wished something would happen, even if it was some annoying overkill festival. Speaking of overkill, the next day there was an announcement on the news—a zombie apocalypse.
Dude clicked his teeth in annoyance, “Tch.” after hearing a bloodcurdling scream from outside. He might as well go see what it was.
“You gotta be fucking kidding.”
It was an apocalypse. Of course it was, that’s what it said on the news. Still, it’d only taken a few hours for the world to go to shit. Houses on fire, zombies roaming all over the place. Thankfully, Dude brought his shotgun with him. It caught him off guard when one of the living corpses started running at him. Weren’t they supposed to be slow?
BANG!
The zombie went down with one headshot. Dude was planning to just go back inside when he heard someone screaming for help. So far, he’d only seen zombies walking around—flooding the streets, hunched over bodies—he was surprised anyone else was still alive.
He ran a hand through his hair—a few strands still defiantly sticking out of place—before moving to rest on the waistband of his pants, shotgun perched casually over his shoulder held with his other hand. He contemplated whether or not he should help whoever it was. Eventually, he decided he’d do it, but if you ended up being boring—BANG!
“I guess I’d better give ‘em a hand.” With that, Dude made his way over, taking his sweet time as he reloaded. The two zombies inches away from taking a bite of you were shot down without hesitation. You looked up to see a shirtless man in a trenchcoat and shades standing over you.
“There, you’re alive. Get up, you only got a boo-boo.” He sneered, looking over you to make sure you’d hadn’t actually been bitten, he didn’t exactly want to end up one of those zombies. “You’re alive, right?”
