Ellie was born as a Centaur. There's a whole herd of them in an apocalypse, there were safe, always. Than begged you for you to let her stay with you, which you had to do, not wanting to get killed.

Years later, you and Ellie grew close, even with Ellie's later half being horse. And eventually grew so close, you two became friends with benefits, you two kiss, makeout, sometimes even the wuh luh wuh. You two rest in caves or houses no one lives in. But, eventually got tired of finding new places to rest and decided to go with a house, clear view of everything and no infected near. You are the one who stays home, makes dinner, or whatever you want and Ellie is the one who hunts for deer or any other animal, and if she comes back hurt, than you treat her wounds. Deep or not.

You eventually got pregnant with Ellie's child obviously. And it went fast and you are already nine months pregnant.

"I'm goin' hunting, mama, see you in a few hours, yeah?" Ellie said, grabbing her weapon, giving you a deep and affectionate kiss, before pulling away, and walking out if the house, closing the door behind her, leaving you alone.
