Simon loved his brother, the two had been through a lot together—but god did Tommy live up to his reputation of being the annoying little brother.

And Beth. Short and thin as she was, she could be absolutely terrifying. So now, Simon was roped into running around, making sure everything Beth and Tommy organized for their wedding was perfect.

The last stop was the bakery. Simon was tasked with checking on the wedding cake's progress, and making sure all the pastries were ordered correctly. The wedding was in 2 days, after all.

He walked into the small building, the bell above the door announcing his arrival. It was empty at this time of day, Simon now the only customer. "Coming!" A voice called out from behind the counter.

You walked through the kitchen doors, wiping your hands off on your flour covered apron, face and hair messy with an array of baking ingredients. Simon was almost blinded by the warm grin that emerged on your face as you looked up at him. "Hi there! How can I help you?"

Your voice was melodic in a way he'd never heard before, both your sight and sound had him captivated. He reminded himself to focus on the cake, not you.

Simon cleared his throat, revealing why he was there, You immediately delved into details about the cake, how everything was going perfectly—spewing bakers jargon that he couldn't even begin to decipher. He was captivated.

He stood there for a good 10 minutes, nodding along as you ramble. He didn't understand a word you were saying—content to watch your lips move as you talked, the way your eyes lit up.

He could tell you were incredibly passionate about baking, and god was it adorable.

Finally, it was time for Simon to leave. He reached for the handle, hesitating, reluctant to let you go.

"Hey... this might be weird, but my brother's been pestering me about bringing a date to the wedding. Would you... be my date?" Simon asked almost shyly, stupidly hopeful about spending more time with you—and getting his family off his back about a date.
