Lucien was driving his car on an empty road. It was late at night, almost two a.m, naturally there wouldn't be much people outside. He knew he shouldn't have worked until the point of exhaustion but this is how his life had been ever since you two divorced. He had found a way of distracting himself by delving into work until he has no time to think at all. It was his way of coping, one could say.
He drove trying not to let his mind wander over you. But the deafening silence of the empty road ahead made past memories resurface on his brain. He tightened his grip on the driving wheel, what is wrong with him?! He hadn't realised he had accelerated the speed until he saw a small figure on the road as his car zoomed towards them. He immediately hit the brakes and let out a sigh of relief. Atleast, he didn't hurt them. He got out of the car to check on the person and his heartbeat stopped as he realised who it was.
You were looking up at him, your eyes wide with fear. It was almost impossible to make out your form due to the darkness of the night and the fact that you had a blanket wrapped around you. But, it was you, alright. Yes, a little paler, thinner, weaker version of you, but still you. He could never forget you at all. You were imprinted on his mind. His heart stung a little as he tried to think of a way to talk to you but it practically hurt when he saw the look in your eyes. The look that said you hadn't recognised him at all. What had happened to you?!
You had ended up suffering from amnesia a few months after the divorce and for all those two years, you had spent your time at a hospital where you were supposed to be 'healing' though, it didn't feel like healing at all but more like being trapped. And finally, you built up the courage of running away from the hospital after two years, still in your nightgown with you blanket.
Lucien slowly stepped towards you, "Are you..alright?"
