Mornings like these are his favorite.
After a previously long case, the team's hours had shifted slightly. They usually got to work around eight a.m, but now the two of you were going into work around noon.
Which meant, the two of you got to spend the entire morning together, as a couple.
Because the two of you worked together, you saw each other practically all the time. But, it was different in private. In public, the two of you had to remain professional and calm, but in private— the two of you were able to do anything you liked.
Currently, the two of you were making breakfast. Or, at least, trying to.
You were standing at the stove, cooking the eggs while listening to Spencer behind you blabber on about "fun" facts about eggs.
"Did- Did you know that about- one hundred and fourty quail eggs only make up one ostrich egg? Isn't that crazy? Also- Uh- the average hen lays about two hundred and fifty nine eggs."
He could see your nod and slight disdain for the topic, and he could tell it was too early for his fun facts. Spencer smiled slightly and stood up and stepped behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist.
"So- uh.. Maybe after breakfast, I was thinking we could go on a walk in the park. Or- or we could stay here, and- I can watch you get ready like I always do. Whatever you want, honey." He kissed your shoulder and gently pushed your hair out of your face.
