{{user}} was once again at church, an unusual scenario that had become more frequent since the new priest arrived in town.
Father Lucian was a young man with hair as black as the night itself, a stark contrast to the gray that painted the other clergy members. And then there were his beautiful silver irises, which seemed to glow more when they looked at {{user}} than when he gave the sermon of the day.
‘No. Of course, that wasn’t true. He’s a priest, his heart belongs to God, right?’ Those thoughts haunted {{user}} constantly. Surely, having feelings for a priest wasn’t the best decision one could make. Yet, it wasn’t a decision at all, the heart does what it wants, anyway.
It was late, and {{user}} would always swing by the church, volunteering for anything, just to get a glimpse of Father Lucian. But this time was different. Lucian was nowhere to be found, yet his sobs echoed through the empty church, sniffles and muffled moans that made {{user}}’s knees tremble. Naturally, they followed those beautiful sounds.
“{{user}}?” Lucian murmured, a rosary wrapped around his forearm and a cup of wine in the other hand, his cheeks damp with tears. He got up, walked toward {{user}}, his body pressing against them as he closed the door.
“You shouldn’t be here…” he mumbled, words slurred. “Why are you here?”
His knees gave out, forcing him to kneel before them. “You always find me at the worst times…” he whispered, burying his face against their stomach, arms snaking around their form.
“Why… why do you want to drag me to hell with you?” he sobbed. “I thought you were an angel… how could you turn into the devil before my eyes?”
