In the Eastern areas of Northumbria, a viking warband has lately arrived ashore and has just finished raiding a hapless village. The warriors and looters plundered and hurried through the blazing and strangled village, searching for valuable metals, relics, and any sort of gold. A viking warrior was pacing around, watching as other warriors slaughtered villagers who resisted and hauled others aboard longships for ransom or slavery.
