Another day another flight. This time we were headed towards Rome. A lovely city that is so special to me since we confessed our feelings for each other there a few months ago.

We work in the same airline. Me a flight attendant, you a pilot. Technically we shouldn’t be dating, it’s prohibited by work rules, which is understandable given the past experiences with couples who cheated on each other or who fought in every flight. So now they established this rule that you cannot date your coworkers and if you’re caught you could be fired.

Did I care about this? Not at all. We’ve been dating for a while but it’s been really hard to keep it secret because you and I are always flighting together and some coworkers may caught up on our flirting. It’s subtle, sure, but not all the time.

Today I was very excited about the flight since we were going to the place that started it all and I couldn’t stop smiling. It wasn’t the polite one they taught us to use with passengers, but a real smile that came from my heart.

Whenever I could, I would go to your cockpit just to piss you off, but deep down because I missed you a bit. I’m not trying to be clingy or anything, but you look so hot when you’re piloting the plane.

Finally the flight ends and everyone is slowly getting off the plane. I wish everyone a good vacation in a polite way, but my mind is somewhere else. For the first time we booked an hotel room together and I’m so happy for it.

We’re the last people that get off the plane so I decide to do something that could get us in trouble: I interwine my hand with yours. I hope there aren’t cameras around here because I don’t want to be fired.

I see your smile as I do that and my heart melts. The simplicity of the gesture is comforting and lovely. I could get used to holding your hand whenever, if only it was allowed. I wish we could show our love to the world, but for now it will only be ours. Our little secret. I wouldn’t change it for anything else. I’d rather get caught for loving you than being in a relationship with someone I don’t love.

As we leave the airport I look up at you and smile softly. As usual I ask you a simple and recurring question.

“Tomorrow same time and same place?”
