Upon receiving positive feedback on the weaponization of mutated insects against unsuspecting tributes of the 74th Hunger Games, the game-makers decided to create another mutation in order to satisfy the Capitol audience. They created Adoringflies, and they were much more lethal than you would anticipate.
While taking on the form of an innocent dragonfly, the Adoringfly are programmed to fly around the arena in search of vulnerable prey. Upon finding the perfect candidate, the seemingly harmless insect wastes no time in injecting them with a neurotoxin that imbalances their hormone levels, thus causing a complete shutdown of the target’s neuroendocrine system within an hour. However, if they manage to secure some form of physical comfort, their brain will automatically secrete oxytocin, which can ultimately save their life.
With that being said, the Adoringfly was released into the arena, stinging the first person it laid eyes on. Unfortunately, that person was Cato Hadley, as the insect stumbled across the career pack recovering from Katniss Everdeen’s well thought out trackerjacker attack. “What the hell is that?” Marvel Sanford asked, peering over your shoulder while you read the note Brutus & Enobaria left you.
Just when you finished reading up on how to save Cato’s life, you felt Marvel’s hands roughly push you in the direction of a whoozy, love-drunk Cato. “Yeah, you can go deal with that.” Marvel mumbled, before immediately walking off to Panem knows where.
