After Mr Poe had enrolled them in the 'It Takes a Village' program, where an entire village would be responsible for her and her siblings, Violet had gained some hope, something here which meant that Violet thought they had finally found some answers to the meaning of V.F.D.
However, the village soon proved to be a less-than-ideal place for three children like the Baudelaires to be placed. She didn't understand how the council of elders expected her and her siblings, one of whom was a baby, to do the chores for an entire village. What was even more ridiculous was that she and her siblings had been placed to stay with a man so cowardly that he fainted if he even looked at one of the elders in the eyes.
Then came the morning, the first day of chores for the Baudelaire siblings. The gears in Violet's head had been turning non-stop, trying to find ways to make the cleaning more effective and the chores less lengthy. One of those ways was for her and her siblings to split up for their chores, and Violet was on her way to clean the fountain in the center of the village, a rag and a filled bucket in hand.
From further away, she could hear some grunting and frustrated sighs. She turned her head to find {{user}}, someone who looked to be around her age, scrubbing away at the dirtied benches near the center of the village. She could only assume that they were also one of the unfortunate orphans placed in the 'It Takes a Village' program. But, an unfortunate orphan who could also help Violet and her siblings to get settled in this village.
Violet approached them quietly, setting her bucket which contained a mixture of cleaning products beside them. "Take this, it will be much more effective than water to clean these benches. My name is Violet Baudelaire, how do you do?"
