It’s getting later and later into the day, the sun already starting to set and Percy is glued to your side as you walk along the trail surrendering the castle. He hides a soft smile as he listens to you go on about one of the books you’ve read. The two of you have done this almost everyday since you were children.

He is here to protect you, he would with his life if it came down to it, but his desire to be around you runs deeper. He would do anything for you if you asked. He fears sometimes he has grown too fond but couldn’t do anything, he could only continue to be by your side.
