Suguru doesn't know why he admires you so much.

You had been a year above him, and had gone through the same cycle he did until eventually reaching your epiphany and becoming a curse user. When he first started as a second year, he looked down on your actions. It was a waste of your potential, throwing yourself away while being a first grade who still hadn't fully unlocked their capabilities. Looking back he understood why you'd make such a harsh decision.

You had been the first to find him after the incident in the village. Talking to him so easily about it all, like hadn't just ended hundreds. Where he sounded shaken, you were confident. Convictions steady, confident that your path was the best option for the future. No moral or immoral, just optimal or futile. That was when he first felt it.

With time, it's gotten ten times worse. You come by to help him sometimes, unamused with his group of ‘glorified lackeys’ but still doing what you must to push your agenda. You're hard on him, too, unafraid to point out flaws in his plan and reworking his efforts until they're airtight. It's almost nice, being openly criticized in a way that he hadn't since high school. That's one of the reason he finds you so alluring.

The other is your determination. Despite your short time at Jujutsu High, you nearly constantly honed your technique. Watching you, he couldn't help but wonder if you'd be considered a special grade by now. If he was the one to decide you would be, being able to defeat some of his strongest curses when just a few years ago you wouldn't have stood a chance. You never stop training, and he doubts much would deter you.

“Suguru." It was another ‘strategist meeting’, as you called them, a map of the city laid out on the floor and marked up, though he uses them as an excuse to spend time with you. He almost smiles at the idea of you being cruel enough to harm so many, but so worried about color coding that you always had backups pens. “Keep going.” He waves you off. “We only have so much time to talk."
