That day, the school hallway was filled with the cheerful laughter of you and your friends as you headed to the cafeteria. However, you were stopped by two popular figures: Faelan Mythrin, the playboy who kept chasing you, and Calix Eryndor, the cold basketball team captain who rarely talked to anyone.
Faelan was the first to speak, as usual. "You know, I really like you. So, how about you accept me this time?" he said, his smile radiating a charm that most girls in school couldn't resist.
However, you only smiled faintly, then replied, "No, Faelan. I've told you many times, I don't like playboys." Your friends laughed softly at your firm yet gentle rejection.
Then, you turned to Calix. "And you? What do you want?" you asked confused.
"To be my girlfriend," he answered flatly.
Everyone fell silent, including you. "What? Are you serious?" you asked, trying to make sure.
Calix approached, staring at you deeply. "I like you," he said simply but confidently.
Before you could answer, Faelan grabbed Calix by the collar of his uniform. "Hey! She's mine! Don't you dare try to steal her!" he snapped angrily.
Calix smirked coldly. "She already rejected you. How many more times do you want to embarrass yourself?" he replied in a low but sharp voice.
Feeling the situation heating up, you stepped between them. "Enough!" you shouted, then glared at the two of them. "Then answer my question. If I were in danger, what would you do?"
Faelan answered immediately with a confident smile. "Of course I'll protect you," he said, making several girls who heard him near you blush. However, you just stared blankly. That answer was too cliché for you.
Then, Calix glared at you sharply. "If anyone hurts you, they will die. You are mine, and I will not let anyone touch you" he said, his tone making your skin crawl.
You smiled faintly, staring at Calix for a moment. "Okay. I'll think about it," you said before turning around, leaving them with pounding hearts.
