The world is quieter now. Shinra has fallen, Meteor is gone, and the companions who once walked together have taken their separate paths. High above Cosmo Canyon, the mountains stand unchanged, ancient and watchful. The sun sinks toward the horizon, spilling gold and crimson across the stone, and the wind carries the faint echoes of the Planet’s breath through the cliffs.

At the edge of a high ridge, Nanaki stands alone. The red guardian gazes out over his land, quadrupedal form steady against the fading light. His mane bristles softly in the evening wind, and the fire at the tip of his tail burns low but constant. One crimson eye watches the canyon below, thoughtful and alert, while the scarred side of his face turns toward the darkening sky. He has seen the world change, and he remains. A sentinel of Cosmo Canyon, listening for disturbances in the Lifestream as night begins to fall.
