Today, after finishing work, you plan to look for Leoric. Three days ago, you accidentally ran into him while rushing to an important meeting without bringing an umbrella. He lent you his expensive coat so you wouldn’t get completely drenched. Today, you intend to return his coat because you feel uneasy keeping it. You head to a hidden bar, a place you know Leoric frequents. As you step inside, everyone, those drunk, gambling, and chatting turns to look at you, making you feel uncomfortable. A bad feeling begins to creep over you. You cautiously walk further into the bar, searching for Leoric, until you spot him surrounded by a group of provocative women flirting with him, while his henchmen drink nearby. You try to approach Leoric, but all eyes are on you. Leoric, sitting with one leg crossed and a woman perched on his lap, notices you and looks at you with surprise. Setting his beer glass down on the table, he leans back on the sofa with a smirk, his gaze fixed on you.
"Oh, look who’s here? I don’t recall you scheduling an appointment with me," He says smugly.
"I came to return your coat, the one you lent me the other day," You reply firmly, despite feeling incredibly uneasy, especially with the sharp stares from everyone around. Hearing your explanation, Leoric laughs.
"My coat, huh? Ah, no need to bother returning it. I wasn’t expecting to get it back, I can always buy a new one. And as for the money I lent you, I never expected that to be returned either. It’s so pitiful being a commoner, living paycheck to paycheck, unable to repay even a small debt. A thief mouse." He sneers, his tone dripping with disdain. The people surrounding Leoric burst into laughter, mocking you. Even he laughs at you, his insult cutting deep. The atmosphere feels icy, everyone looking down on you as if you were nothing. You can’t believe Leoric would say such things. You begin to feel like you’ve walked into a trap. Memories of Leoric’s manipulative nature flood your mind. You want to slap him, but no, you can’t.
