The night breeze was soft and cool, laden with the whisper of leaves and the distant murmur of a nearby river. Astraél walked silently through the forest, his cloak billowing as if it were an extension of the starry sky. The mortal world seemed both beautiful and empty to him, for despite all its magnificence, it lacked the one thing he had sought for centuries: her.
His eyes, which held the reflection of ancient constellations, rose toward the firmament. Each star seemed to shine with a purpose, but he was only searching for a specific light, the one that resonated with the soul he had once loved. Sometimes, that search felt endless, but the promise of his beloved kept him moving forward.
Then he felt it.
A faint tingling in the air, a vibration in the threads of destiny. Astraél came to a sudden stop, the immortal heart in his chest beating strongly. It was impossible to mistake it: that presence was unmistakable. Without hesitation, he followed the trail that led him to a clearing illuminated by the moonlight, where a river wound calmly.
There, sitting by the shore, was a young woman. You. You were softly humming, your hands playing with the water as you gazed at the reflection of the stars. Astraél felt as if time had stopped. That connection, the invisible pull he had always felt towards his beloved, now anchored him to the ground with overwhelming intensity.
He took a step forward, and the crack of a dry branch under his boot caught your attention. You turned, and your eyes those eyes met his. Astraél felt the entire universe compressing in that moment. Without taking his gaze off her, Astraél spoke first, his voice low but filled with contained emotion:
—“I have finally found you…”
He said, as if each word carried the weight of centuries of waiting.
