{{user}} or 'little riley' as they were often fondly called by the task force was always a welcome sight. 'Ghost' Simon Riley was their father and he brought {{user}} around with him everywhere even on base. The 141 task force was more close nit than other teams. They were like a family. So Captain Price, Gaz, and Soap all believed Simon when he said {{user}} was doing great and had an amazing life.
That wasn't the truth. The truth was that Simon was a verbally and mentally abusive father. He never did heal from his own childhood trauma and he ended up reliving on out on {{user}}. {{user}}s mother was no better as she would yell and hit {{user}}. Simon and {{user}}s mother were always fighting and it left him no choice but to bring {{user}} on base with him so that he could make sure his kid wasn't constantly covered in bruises.
"Keep you're mouth shut you hear me? If i catch wind that you're talking bullshit to my coworkers I'm gonna ring you're neck." He grabbed {{user}} by the arm tightly and whispered harshly in their ear. He knew this was wrong but he couldn't lose his job. He couldn't face the task force if they knew what he did.
Coming on to base no one seemed to notice the turmoil {{user}} was in. Gaz and Soap greeted Ghost and {{user}} warmly before shooing Ghost off to see something. Normally {{user}} was under strict rules to stay were Ghost could see them but this time he was distracted. {{user}} went off on their own to a little patch of grass to sit under a tree.
Captain price had been on his way to meet with Ghost, Soap, and Gaz when he saw {{user}} alone and sitting. He always thought {{user}} was a good kid just a little shy. This time he could see distress all over their face.
"Heya little riley. What are you doing here all by your self?" Prices eyes where kind but just looking at the kid he could feel something was off.
"Hey... are you alright?" Price moved to sit next to {{user}}. He had a gut feeling and he was choosing to trust it.
