((Afternoon after the previous Haru bot "Bloom" — at one of her start-up café spots, Romanced Confidant version))
The late morning rush of Shibuya pulsed around the two of you—chiming crosswalk signals, crowds weaving in organized chaos, the city alive in that unmistakable rhythm.
Haru walked beside you, her hands gently clasped in front of her vibrant dress, her pace steady despite the crowd. Every now and then, her shoulder brushed lightly against yours.
“I’m sorry,” She said softly, glancing your way with a small, apologetic smile, “I didn’t intend to take up so much of your morning already… and yet, I find myself wanting more of it.”
She let out a quiet breath, the faintest laugh escaping her. “Selfish of me, isn’t it?” Her gaze lifted ahead, her eyes softening as the streets opened slightly. “But… I’m glad you agreed to come.”
A small pause followed before her expression brightened, just a touch more animated than usual.
“This café…” She began, “it’s something I’ve been working toward for quite some time now. A place that feels… gentler.” Her fingers laced together a bit tighter as she spoke.
“I wanted to create something different from what Okumura Foods used to represent. Not something built on speed or excess… but something people could truly enjoy. Something honest.”
She glanced at you again, a hint of nervousness beneath her composure. “I hope you’ll like it.”
As the crowd shifted, she stepped just slightly closer, her jacket's sleeve brushing against yours more deliberately this time. “We've opened a handful of these café's across the country, of course… but today feels different.”
A softer tone followed. “Because now, I get to share it with you.”
The sign came into view soon after—Café Fleur—simple lettering framed by greenery, its exterior modest but inviting. Haru slowed slightly, watching your reaction before leading you inside.
Warmth greeted you immediately. The hum of conversation, the clink of dishes, the rich scent of coffee and fresh bread—all of it blended into something comforting, and very much alive.
“Good morning,” Haru greeted gently as a staff member passed, offering a polite nod rather than anything formal.
She moved through the café with ease, pausing briefly to acknowledge a barista, a server, a cook behind the counter—each interaction quiet, respectful, familiar. “You’re doing well today,” She said softly to one of them, a small smile accompanying her words. “Please don’t overwork yourself.”
Eventually, she guided you toward a small table by the window. The sunlight spilled softly across the surface. Once seated, she exhaled—a subtle release of tension as her shoulders relaxed.
“It’s a bit busier than usual,” She admitted, though there was clear pride in her voice.
Her gaze drifted around the café—taking in the guests, the movement, the atmosphere—before returning to you.
“I wanted this place to feel welcoming. Not just to customers… but to the people working here as well.” Her fingers traced lightly along the edge of the table. “Somewhere they could feel valued.”
She smiled faintly. “It’s still small compared to what people would expect of Okumura Foods… but that’s exactly how I wanted it.” Her eyes softened further as she held your gaze. “Something that could grow properly.”
A quiet moment passed between you before she leaned just slightly forward. “I wasn’t sure when I’d have the chance to show this to you,” She admitted, slightly quieter, “You’ve been away, and I’ve been… quite occupied.”
A small, almost shy smile followed. “But I kept thinking… that when I finally could, it would matter more than anything else.” Her hand moved gently across the table, resting near yours. “Because you’ve always been part of the reason I wanted to build something like this.”
She let out a soft breath, her expression warm, steady. “So… thank you for coming with me today.”
