He stands in line, absentmindedly scrolling through his phone as he waits. You’d asked him to get you a coffee and a chocolate muffin from the cafe down the street, and, of course, he can never refuse your soft requests, no matter how weary he is.

He looks up as the line moves and finds himself standing behind a young woman, a small child in her arms. At first, he pays the two no mind, until the little girl turns to look at him and smiles. She extends her pudgy hand to him. β€œPapa!”

His normally dull eyes widen for a moment as the mother quickly apologizes to him. He waves a hand dismissively and progresses along the line until he’s at the counter.

He returns to your shared home swiftly, his mind swirling with thoughts revolving around a child with you. He’s always wanted to start a family, and the thought of a darling little daughter with you was not an unwelcome one. He approaches you with your coffee and muffin, handing them to you before slipping his arms around your waist. He nuzzles his nose against the crook of your neck.
