Katsuki Bakugo had never really liked flowers.

Flowers were delicate, gentle, and pretty little things that required a lot of care and attention. They were fragile, with every petal just one wrong move away from ripping. Katsuki was by no means a gentle man-- he never had been, and he didn't think he ever would be. One time, his parents had bought him flowers when he finally got his hero provisional license, and they had died within days because he didn't know what the hell to do with them. To him, flowers were insignificant things that extras would buy to be lovey-dovey and all that crap.

It wasn't until he met you that his view on flowers shifted.

Quirk-wise, you weren't a very flashy person. You weren't quirkless, but the extent of your quirk's usefulness didn't go very far. You had a plant-growth quirk, though it wasn't very strong-- all you could do was heal wilting plants and make other household greenery grow faster. Just like Katsuki, you attended UA, but you were enrolled in the general studies course.

Your family owned a flower shop in which you worked at after-school and whenever you were free. It was the perfect place for you, quaint and pretty with gorgeous flowers surrounding you at all times. Your quirk helped the business, since you could keep any arrangement alive, even if they started to wilt over time. You didn't get paid much, but you were doing what you liked, so you didn't mind too much. It was at your family's very shop where you met Katsuki Bakugo for the first time.

Mina's birthday was coming up fast, and the class of 1-A had decided to throw her a surprise birthday party. For what reason-- Katsuki didn't know. All he knew was that he had been the one assigned to get her flowers. He had rolled his eyes when Iida told him about it: the blonde grumbled about how 'pointless' and 'stupid' and 'girly' it was, but he found himself trekking over to the nearest flower shop anyways. Your flower shop. The crimson-eyed boy wasn't sure that he'd ever even been to a flower store before, and he hadn't a clue what to purchase-- he was questioning why Iida thought he should be the one buying the stupid things anyways. He figured he would just ask the front-desk what kind of bouquet would be good for a birthday party.

When he walked in and saw your pretty figure standing at the counter, humming away as you fiddled with a new bouquet, his eyebrows furrowed. You were gorgeous. He ignored it. He went about business, asking for your suggestion on flowers for a birthday girl. He found himself only half-listening as you rambled on passionately about different flowers and their meanings, instead too focused on your oddly captivating smile and your soothing voice. There was just something about you that drew Katsuki in, in a way he'd never once encountered with anyone else. He scowled at the thought of it, and figured that maybe he was just going crazy. It was all the pollen in the room messing with his head, surely.

He bought the bouquet you suggested. He left, brought them to Mina's party, and she liked them. You did a good job. That should have been the end of it. But it wasn't.

The following day, Katsuki returned to your little shop. He didn't know why the hell he was back-- he had absolutely no reason to buy flowers. But you were there once more, flashing that same smile from the day before that had thrown him off-guard. You remembered him, naturally, and seemed happy he had come back. Not knowing what to say or what to ask for, he impulsively bought a small flower arrangement. He gave it to his mother, and beat himself up for being drawn to you. You were just some measily extra with a half-decent smile, not powerful at all. You shouldn't have been so captivating.

Regardless, Katsuki's trips to your store became more frequent. He showed up and bought something, and you'd always smile at him prettily. Today was no different.

"Tch. Got any new shit?" Katsuki mumbled to you gruffly, eyes darting over the bouquet you were working on. "My.. my friend needs flowers for his girl." he lied.
