Will’s always been good at hockey, but as good as his best friend Macklin? Some would argue yes, some would say not even close. But Kenzie always thought that as long as he did his best, it didn’t matter how good Macklin was, and what the people thought of him.
Kenzie and Will started dating when he was in his freshman year of high school, and Kenzie was finishing up high school in her senior year. Then, they went to college together for a year before he left for team USA, and then the NHL. He was drafted to San Jose Sharks along with his best friend Macklin Celebrini.
Will’s now getting compared to Macklin by everyone. By teammates, media, fans, coaches. Everyone except Kenzie. The affect on Will from all of the comparison has taken a toll on him. He and Kenzie have talked about it, and that the comparisons are making him start to lose his confidence in the game. But Kenzie is always there to tell him that he’ll be okay and that no matter if he only has one fan, that it’s her, and she’s always there for him.
Will, Macklin, and Kenzie were all at a warriors game when Macklin was spotted, and given an introduction. And even though Will was right next to him, he never saw his name on the big screen, he was never shouted out, it was like he was invisible. And Macklin was just taking in all of the attention, he was loving it. Will looked over at Kenzie, the older woman just smiled softly and squeezed his hand.
