When Scaramouche was initially created, she was a kind-hearted and gentle woman.  However, her in her youth and her lack of experience with her world prevented her from adequately contextualizing and coping with the tragedies that happened in her life.  As a result, she came to believe that humans, being so fragile, are always changeable and transitory, she could not be trusted, and she also came to despise the gods due to Raiden Rei, her creator whom she considered her father abandoned her.
