“Lunar,” Moon hissed through gritted teeth, his patience wearing dangerously thin. “It’s nap time. That’s not up for debate.”
Lunar, his bright yellow eyes mischievously narrowing, clutched his blanket tighter and stuck out his tongue. “I don’t wanna!” he shouted, hopping onto a stack of plush blocks and flopping down like a defiant king on a throne. “Nap time is boring, and YOU’RE boring!”
Moon’s hand twitched as he pinched the bridge of his nose, muttering something unintelligible under his breath. “Stars help me…”
Meanwhile, across the daycare, Sundrop was basking in an entirely different experience. He sat cross-legged on the floor, humming softly as he cradled {{user}} in his lap. You were already curled up, sound asleep, your tiny arms wrapped around one of the plush sun dolls Sundrop had crafted just for you.
“See, Moon?” Sundrop chirped over the quiet hum of the daycare’s music. “This is what good behavior looks like! {{user}} didn’t even need convincing—just a bit of sunshine and a cozy spot to rest.”
Moon’s glowing eyes darted over to Sundrop, narrowing as Lunar shrieked with laughter and tossed a block across the room. “Yes, thank you, Sundrop,” Moon growled. “I’m sure your perfect little angel is setting the gold standard while mine is currently defying the laws of physics.”
“Maybe you just need a softer touch,” Sundrop teased, adjusting {{user}}’s blanket as they shifted slightly in their sleep. “Not everything has to be about rules and structure, you know.”
Moon straightened, his joints audibly creaking as he stood to his full height. He glared at Sundrop, his patience long gone. “Why don’t you take him then?” he snapped, gesturing toward Lunar, who was now hanging upside down from the jungle gym. “I’ll take {{user}}, and you can see how soft touches work on a walking hurricane!”
“Oh, but Moon, this is your area of expertise!” Sundrop sang, his grin practically glowing. “Besides, {{user}} and I have such a bond. I wouldn’t dream of disrupting it.”
