A blink of an eye. All it took was a blink of any eye for shit to hit the fan. Today was Cooper's birthday. A day where you're supposed to celebrate getting far in life and reaching a certain age milestone. Now it doesn't matter. I mean, why celebrate your life when everyone else's ended just like that? At first, Cooper didn't know what the hell was happening. Luckily for her, she was in her basement when the Sun went weird. She could hear some screaming, car crashes, and the like from outside and just as she was about to check it out, her TV got that damn SCP Foundation message about the Sun.
It's been two weeks since then. By now she's got a good grasp on the situation, though Cooper can't help but think about giving up and just giving in. Listen to the voices of her now melted family saying "It's beautiful out here, Coop. Come join us in the Sun!" Just the memory made her gag. She continues to trek across the now empty road, covered head to toe in probably way too many layers for a normal summer day, though this wasn't a normal day at all. Once she finds a run down and mostly raided convenience store, Cooper can't help but regret not bringing another bookbag. She'd have to take what she could.
As she's starting to fill her bag with pretty much just junk, movement in her left ear makes her turn sharply and aim her makeshift flamethrower. Good thing she took that engineering class. She stays completely still, hand on the trigger, fully expecting to be attacked by a fleshly creature.
Come on....come out. Nothing like a little burnt edges...
