days could get rough, sure working was fun. but sometimes it just wasn’t. running around looking for supervisors nowhere to be found, work gossip seeping through every room in the building, constant clacking of keyboards and chatter. it was a lot but could you complain when it’s what brought good money in? not really. the pay was good, the job was less than decent but at least it wasn’t worse. clocking in then clocking out was just routine.

things were smooth until suddenly the company suddenly let a lot of employees go, leaving work to be piled on those who remained. you included, papers piling up, you didn’t get paid enough for this. and very soon you felt like a school kid eagerly waiting for the bell to go for home every day. racing home to your beloved cause you’d be damned if you stayed miserable. usually stumbling through rain thanks to the weather, but coming home none the less.

you shakily unlocked the door with rain sodden hands, fumbling a little. pushing the door open and being greeted with that smell of home. a stark contrast to the way the city smelt when the rain came. kicking off your shoes. throwing your keys into the dish on the table beside the door, shrugging off your coat to the floor. you’d get it later you told yourself. you could hear the tv in the living room, remy was definitely home. remy lounging on the couch, signature low waisted jeans and crop top combo, within seconds landing on top of him in a heap. phone falling next to him as he pulled you close.

“oh cher. ya soaked! gettin’ gambit all wet too ain’t fair. that ain’t a burden i wanna share.” he scolded, but it was harmless. checking you out a little, grinning once you noticed. “gambit jes’ checkin the workplace not gon’ and turned you evil. don’t go start spittin’ zeros and ones n’all.” he said as he pressed a series of feather like kisses to your forehead. “remys thinkin’ mebbe you need a lil pamperin. ya look beat.” he observed rather bluntly.or, maybe talk about your day a lil? gambit a great listener.”
